Stephanie Amey was born in Widnes.  After studying at York University and working in Yorkshire she spent several yeas working in Kenya and Guatemala before settling in Norfolk. She developed an interest in roman Britain after living near Hadrian's wall as a child.  Her novel, 'The Edge of Empire' - a crime thriller set at a fort on Hadrian's wall, was published in May 2024. The sequel will be published in 2025.
